Workshop: Sing Your Story, Dance Your Dharma!

Singer, VocalEase instructor Joanna Finch and dance instructor Jade De Trey are co-facilitating a sensually satisfying weekend retreat on July 25-27 at Innisfree Farm.

Cultural Myths will be explored, and celebrated and transformed. We will see the connection between the way we move and the words we speak, and use that information to create spontaneous improvised songs

The activities include qi gong, authentic movement, dancing under the moonlight, walking meditation, swimming, and vocal release

About the Facilitators

Joanna Finch has an astonishing ability to make unlimited sounds with her voice. She is an award nominated jazz and folk singer with several acclaimed CDs and a multi-istrumentlist musician.  She has been teaching VocalEase workshops since 2007 in Antigua, Canada and Ecuador, helping people to release their voice and find the deep pleasure of building community through spontaneous improvisations in sound and movement. Joanna loves to encourage others to find their voice.

Jade DeTrey teaches many forms of dance and is a body work practitioner. Her gentle and playful personality draws out novice dancers and her body comedy is hilarious. Her dance troupe, Methuselah Dance create living art performances at festivals and concerts that include clowning, modern and contact dance.
